VRV III - Air-cooled condensing unit

A VRV system is composed of outdoor units, indoor fan coil units (in many different styles), connected by copper piping and REFNET joints.

In a VRV system, there is no need for:

  • Large plant room
  • In most cases, no structural reinforcement
  • No water pumps
  • No cooling towers
  • No third party control system

Commercial sites can range in size from a few hundred to several thousands of square feet. That's why Daikin offers the new VRV III system with advanced features to meet practically any challenge. The VRV III system is the seventh generation of the original Daikin VRV launched in 1982. Completely re-engineered to realize opportunities for VRV in taller / larger buildings, it utilizes the latest advances in refrigeration and airconditioning technology. It is widely used worldwide in applications such as:

VRVIII is also available in heat recovery version allowing for simultaneous heating and cooling from a single system. Modern office buildings are highly airtight and subject to an increasing heat load due to the use of computers, lighting equipment and other office equipment. In these buildings some rooms may require mechanical cooling even in winter, depending on the solar load and the number of people in the room. In order to meet such requirements the Heat Recovery Series enables the simultaneous operation of cooling and heating by controlling the branch selector unit that switches cooling and heating. This series also substantially improves energy efficiency by recycling exhaust heat.

Heat Recovery is achieved by diverting exhaust heat from indoor units in cooling mode to areas requiring heating.


Branch Selector Unit - By adding suction gas piping and a BS unit (sold separately) simultaneous heating and cooling operation can be provided by a single system.
